Those who are fact based will note...that a shooter with a race pistol did indeed sweep the head-to-head match...

Whether they want to say that it was because of the pistol or because of the shooter...it's all win-win...
Nuts to that, I'm gonna stick with "we had bad luck" haha. Also having my fibre sight get loose and fall off in the middle of our match was harsh "Where the hell's my front red dot???"

I do agree with what Brian M says though, leave it stock. It'll perform pretty damn well, and won't really give you any troubles. If you really want to upgrade your pistol for CAPS then I suggest getting two. Leave one stock, and use that for the matches until you get your other one up to speed. At the same time though, upgrade your other one and work out all the kinks that'll occur. From my experience, shooting stock is good then when you start adding "upgrades" your gun gets worse. Only after spending countless nights tinkering and cursing will you get your pistol from shooting from good -> crap -> great. Look at Illusion's Open pistol, it's taken him the better part of 2 years to work out all the kinks and he's still tinkering away at it.

I wonder if I yell louder at my pistol maybe it'll start working better...

Nah... no more tinkering. That one is shooting like an absolute dream right now. There's nothing really to complain about it.

Well... it doesn't have enough gold or diamonds. That's about it.

But that's what my other builds in the pipeline are for. I'm already anticipating lots of mechanical errors as soon as I finish building them, and there will be lots of cursing before I get those shooting well enough to retire my current open division pistol. but they'll look HOTTTTTTT. That's all that matters. Forget about skill...

I have a Beretta M92 longslide that I'll be keeping stock to compete with, only cosmetic upgrades for this baby, custom grips etc.

Ah crap. I had a photoshopped pic of a Hi-Capa with diamonds in the grip, but I can't find it.

Now would've been awesome time to post it. lol.

Sunil, can you measure that pistol from the muzzle to the back of where the beavertail safety is? There's a chance your gun will be disallowed from standard division due to the length and be forced to shoot in the Open Division.

Brian W, stop dressing up Hi-capas, they aren't barbie dolls.
If you feel that you need to spend more money, you can purchase me some parts for my Hi-capa.

Oh yeah, I have a hit list of members I want to re-match for revenge!

That's about equivalent to a 7" inner barrel on a Hi-Capa.

Combined with the rest of the pistol, your setup most likely won't fit in to "the box" that allows pistols to shoot in Standard Division. You'd have to shoot in Open Division.

Quote:
A handgun in its ready condition (See Section 8.1), but unloaded but without an empty magazine inserted must fit wholly within the confines of a box which has internal dimensions of 225mm x 150mm x 45mm (tolerance of +1 mm, -0 mm).
Additionally, magazines may not extend 20mm from the end of the pistol's grip (not from the magwell... from the GRIP.)

These are rules still not yet made concrete, but are already under discussion and on their way to be implemented in the IPSC Action Air rulebook.

but 16cm is only 6.2 inches, that's not that bad, the overall length is only 10 inches!, and no internal upgrades either, just grips and engraving maybe

The "box" is just that...a box. You're pistol (no mag inserted) has to fit in the box as part of the production/standard divisions. It's roughly the size of a 5.1 Hicapa...actual measurements are in the IPSC Action Air regs.

I suggested that I bring a hacksaw to "adjust" everyone's pistols...nobody liked that idea...

I hope I can hunt down that new TM Hicapa 5.1 I want but just one thing I noticed after awhile some Hicapas after hardcore use the rear sight area always cracks, I am guessing theres no way to prevent this since its being used on Propane?

Sure there is. Buy a metal slide. LOL.

But realistically, you can get some shock buffers to take the edge off the impact on your plastic slide. I have some coming in.

Brian W sells the fixed sights..
Then you cannot be in the production division.

Or you can shoot Open and save yourself the trouble and buy one of Brian W's custom Hicapa.
