I am having the exzact same problem with a clear m8 I bought I painted it and it shot a few times after and now it doesnt work and the battery gets hot like your tf 16 I checked and the battery works on my bros gun and eveyrhting and nopaint got inside can anyone help me to lol?

Well i figured the thing was that the motor was jammed. when you took it apart, you might have misplaced where the motor should naturally sit. what i did was take hte motor out so it doesn't touch any gears. then what i did was plug in the battery and tried holding the trigger of the gun to start the motor. the battery should be fine. the motor is trying to move but it is jammed so it causes the battery to over heat since the motor wants to move. ask me any more questions if you need it.

Why do you think it's the paint ? Lol..

That happens to my TF16 also but I just recharge the battery then hold the trigger for a few seconds and after it shoots fine.
