Cheers!

The waffle grips are actually the comfiest one I have tried. Since it's a bit
meatier on the sides and it feels like it's molded into, atleast my hand.

It'll be going onto the 4.3 when I get the major pieces from eHobby this
friday. Man, they took a bit over 2 weeks to prepare 4 items. I guess it's
the holiday season.

I guess it depends on whether you have big hands or not, I know a lot of people dislike hi-capas for the grips, opting instead for the 1911 as it's much thinner.

I have pretty small hands to be honest, but I did dislike the standard grip anyways!
Wouldn't mind testing out a 1911...that might be my next project, since I'm already
knee deep in this *suitcase* anyways. If the grip seems too tiny, I bet there's
grips making the 1911 a bit fatter to hold?

You could try a set of 1911 Pachmayr rubber grips, that'll thicken it a bit

On a side note...there was a domestic seller who had an opportunity I simply could
not pass up on. It's a 250+ $ slide set for over 100$ off the price.

Gunsmith Bros SV INFINITY STYLE WITH FRONT
SERRATION STANDARD SLIDE 2013 (SILVER)

Gunsmith Bros 5.1 Steel Guide Rod
Nine Ball 6.03mm Inner Barrel
Nova Brass Hop Up Base Chamber
Nova Steel Optic Front Sight for Marui Hi-Capa
ProHandgun SV style trigger base
ProHandgun SV style long curved trigger
ProHandgun Outer Barrel
War Bear Hammer Protection Pad (v.2)

Hopefully I'll get the package tomorrow.
If not...well the 4.3 package is coming with UPS so
either way it's going to be a glorious day.

You could try something like this:

They have a pretty slim profile but still a pretty good diameter.
Plus they are stippled for better grip registration.

Got one installed on my 4.3.
It's feeeeellllsss sooo good!

Looks like this on my gun:

Well Airsoft Surgeon re-branded that grip. It was a limitted run item, I think.

They are still kicking around.
Scope and laser apparently has them in stock:
http://www.scopeandlaser.com/index.p...ng=en&id=19646

I got mine from Mike Cripps at eliteshooting centre down in the UK.
You could try and ask him to get you one....

Ah. That's very misleading on their behalf.
The "buy" button was still active so assumed they had it....

I've actually looked at those grips quite a few times but I just couldn't
see myself buying them just yet. I know Mike will get some, if I recall
correctly it stood that he'd have them in stock late 2013. Don't go buy
all of them so I can order one ok?

The 5.1 kit is coming on monday. However the 4.3 stuff did arrive this Friday.
eHobby was kind to send me two extra hammer protection plates! Yay! Sadly
...when I saw the slide, Friday wasn't as epic as I assumed it'd be. The slide
was mislabeled. It's for the XDM. Beautiful slide, but still.

The package clearly states it's for XDM but the store label says ' Shooters
Design Ballistic .40 Slide for Marui Hi-Capa 4.3/Xtreme.45 (Black)'. I wonder
how I would get in touch with them to sort this out? Did this sort of stuff
happen to any of you guys?

I spent most of the day to assemble and fit the new frame. I had some issues
to get it all fit properly, but in the end after some minor filing etc, it's all there.
I decided to put the original plastic slide on it for now. In the process I sadly
chipped some paint off the new frame around the area where the left thumb
safety is but...whatever.

Things I will get before I concider the 4.3 finished.

  • Gunsmithbros Outer Barrel, oxided in gold(comp ready)
  • Gunsmithbros Aluminium Compensator (black).
  • Shooters Design Ballistic .40 Slide
  • Airsoft Surgeon SV Trigger base & front parts.
  • Thumb Safety
  • Slide Catch
  • Mag Release
  • Gold oxided bolts?

Enjoy the current shots.
