Dial indicate your barrel to be absolutely sure.

Had the same problem on the VSR10, but when I dial indicated the barrel, found it to bent. You can tell by looking into the barrel.

Took everything apart. Barrel rolls even on a known even surface so I know its not bent. Sanded down the inside of the bucking to even it out as it was a bit uneven. Also sanded down the outside of the rhop patch more. Looking down the barrel from either end you can't see any of it protruding into the barrel window. Put everything back together. Playing tomorrow and will see how it goes. Worst case I give the barrel a bit of a turn as HS suggest. Pending that, stock barrel goes back in for the day OR I run around taking photos.

Thanks for the advise everyone. Hoping I go it dialed in now. Will update tomorrow after playing.

Try shooting without any hop to see if the problem is still there.

If the slight hook is consistent from shot to shot, zero your sights again and run it with the slight hook. :nobrainer:

shot it today and it still had a slight hook ARGH! Gonna strip it all down and see what is going on. Only thing I forgot to do was give the barrel a slight turn to the left.
The hop looks perfect on the outside and the inside. The barrel rolls flat. Turned the hop all the way off and on and the hook just decreases/increases accordingly.

It is a lil odd but not unheard of vsr10's are well known to pull right

Did this ever get solved? Sounds to me like the barrel or the R hop patch. If you can get your hands on a micrometer you'd be able to know exactly if the patch is the same thickness one side from the other.

nah.. still have the odd shot that hooks on me. I am taking September off.
The gun is in pieces right now because I am building a new stock for the gun. I will worry about it when I start putting it back together.

That being said, ask Brent how close they were coming to his head last week

Check the hop up arm. If the molding is off, it will put pressure more on one side of the rubber, thus your hook.

The hop up arm also needs to apply pressure evenly on the rubber, but if the hop up arm is not coming down straight, then that is another problem.

I was going to look at shimming the arm when I start putting things back together.

It's also important to cut the patch to near perfection. The first time I installed r-hop I didn't cut it perfectly square. Shinning a bright light down the end of the barrel, I Looked down the inner barrel and could see that the patch was not sitting straight and was slightly off to the left. It was not until I did that that I noticed the problem. Got myself a new patch and cut it properly, problem solved.

Tried 2 different patches. I had a slight hook prior to the r-hop if memory serves me right. Once I have things back together I will put my clear guarder rubber back in and see if the problem persists.

So I guess the facts are true. The stock hop up chamber is an absolute piece of crap. I noticed when I push the arm down it had a habit of pushing to one side. Will have to test out next time I play. I shimmed the heck out of the hop arm and now its snug and has NO RATTLE. Worst case scenario? PDI Hop Up Chamber
