Eotech 553 Clone problem
Hrm, So I got a clone eotech at TAC09, worked quite nicely to my satisfaction. Turned it on last night and the red light was still going strong, but when I switch to the green one, I can barely see the ring at all.
Literally, its more dim than the lowest setting even possible by this thing, and it won't go any brighter. Wasn't like this when I got it. Its only affecting the Green light though, Red is still fine as is. Not a huge problem since I don't use the green much at all, but it is a bit of an annoyance. I know It's a clone so it was half expected. Has this happend to anyone before, and if so did you manage to find a solution? |

Red is the colour that should be always bright. The green should be a bit lower for use at night. But changing the batteries will restore it. I just tested mine out with new batteries, the green goes brighter, but I only use green for night use.
The thing with these clones is if your battery is about half used, or a bit more, they will lose brightness on the green forsure. Green will never be as bright in day, than at night. Nope, it's not. If you have one, you'll know. You can even do battery changes when your lights are turned off and you will know the difference. Green is always much dimmer than red, but when you see a difference brightness in your green, and not usual, it's your battery. |

Green is pretty useless all around. That's why the real steel versions only have red. Green is pretty useless iin bright light, and wrecks your night vision in low-light situations.

I use green during daytime.. its visible and not as bright.. I can see through it a bit and whats behind it.. easier to aim and focus instead of missing something that the sight covers..
I have a Hurricane 552 though so our sights may be different style.

The reticule on the Hurricane is abnormally fat compared to every other EOTech replica and the real steel A65 reticule. You can see that one really, really easily, green or red, in any lighting conditions, although green is more subdued outside in bright sunlight. It's still visible, but just dimmer. With the finer A65-style reticule on the other replicas, I find green is as useless as tits on a nun in pretty much any situation.
