outer barrel blues...
so i was taking my TSD L96 apart the other day and everything was going smoothly until i tried to unscrew the outter barrel from the receiver. It had no problems unscrewing at first but then it just stops unscrewing. i tried screwing it back in and got it to do so with some difficulty but it's still not fully screwed in and now the outer barrel isn't properly lined up with the receiver (the mag catch is about 10 degrees off) and it won't fit into the stock. I suspect that it's this screw that's causing me grief:
The only problem is that i can't find an allen key that will fit into the screw and it doesn't seem to be hexagonal, almost like it's stripped. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated |

you may have stripped it. If you have a dremel (and are very skilled with it) I advise you do what i do in this situation.... turn the screw into a flat head so you can use a regular flat head screwdriver for it. Now for the real question, Why were you taking it apart?

Have you tried taking the outer barrel out, and screwing it out through the receiver ?

@Sepulcrum
if it is indeed stripped, it came stripped. i considered the dremel but the only problem is that the screw is actually regressed into the receiver so the dremel option isn't really viable. lol why not take it apart? i have to take it apart to get to the hop-up and inner barrel no? @qlong not sure what you mean by that. right now the outer barrel won't budge either way. can't screw it in any further and i can't unscrew it either. |

ok so i found an allen key that fits and i took out the screw and it turns out the screw is just a screw in a hole for show. it has nothing to do with holding the outer barrel in place and now that it's out, the outer barrel is still immobile. can't screw it in or out. i guess i'll have to take a wrench to it or something. either that or i'll have to throw in a few hundred bucks to get a new receiver and outer barrel =T
