disconnecting wires by Delta ring

I have a G&G GR16 carbine. I understand that you have to disconnect the wire beside the D-ring in order to take the upper reciever off but I'm afriad I may do damage doing so. I was wondering if theres a way to disconnect them. I tried just pulling but I fear if I pull harder I'll rip it apart. It's my first time field stripping this rifle or any AEG for that matter. I'm not trying to upgrade anything I just want to understand my rifle more. I've looked over google and I could only find very general intruction with not a lot of detail.

Thanks

*edit*

I meant the seperate connecters (red/black). But never mind I got them disconnected. Thank you anyways.

There should be 2 zip ties. Cut these, then after those are cut, remove the mini tamiya battery connector and fuse by removing the quick connects.
