G&G M4 AEG - Broken Wiring

I just got the G&G M4 off of buyairsoft.ca (works great when wire connects)

The red wire in the hand gaurd that hooks up to the battery has a weird plastic thing linking the red wire to itself. This "fuse" ish thing is broken. The little brass clamp that goes on the end of the wire has come off and is too tight to fit the wire back into it . I'll post pic's when I'm home to try and describe this better.

Either way I have no experience with Airsoft tech and am likely going to need help or tools to fix this. Anyone know of a good place to do that? I'm in Sudbury ON. I'm from Toronto and will be there in a couple of weeks so if you can't think of anything in Sudbury, is there a top choice spot in Toronto? Cheap options? There is a gunsmith near my place in Sudbury would he know how to fix it if its a wiring issue?

Thanks all!! (super noob)

You can probably open the clamp's end back up with a needle nose plyer and a small screwdriver. After that, just crimp it back down around the wiring.

Do you or anyone you know know how to solder?

Canadian Tire will have fuse holders that you can splice in and all the other soldering stuff you will need fairly cheap. This is your best bet as re-crimped connections are prone to breaking again. If you don't know how to solder send me a PM and i can walk you though it.

Also just as a reminder if you decided to go the splicing route make sure you have your heat shrink on first, it really sucks to have to take apart what you just did to get it on.

Thanks for the tips,

I don't know how to solder it on I got a PM from a tech guy in Richmond Hill so I'm going to wait for a week until I'm back down south and take it to see him. Probably the safest bet for now, hopefully I can watch him fix it and learn for next time.

Cheers,

If your not into soldering you can always reclamp it then use shrink tubing to hold it in place.
