Electrical problem?

I was dry firing my CA SCAR CQC when the ROF slowed and slowed, and it sounded like it was really laboured, and then it just stopped. I have tried it with two fully charged battery's but it still wont shoot. is this a motor problem, or when i was changing the spring did i accidentally pull something electrical loose? any insight would be appriciated

If you are sure the batteries are fully charged, make sure you have enough mAh to pull the spring.
Then make sure the motor is adjusted properly onto the bevel gear.
Then failing all that, make sure the gears are shimmed properly.

the motor is no longer making any sound, it seems like a power issue, the batteries I tested with are both the ones ive been playing with recectly

Do you have a fuse installed? If no, your wires may have melted.

take the motor out of the grip, hold it in your hand and pull the trigger.
If its spins freely than the motor is ok and your gears are probably shimmed to tight or something is not right inside the mechbox.

Also this will rule out electrical problems.

Also, a great test. Before you put it all together again, just slap your grip on to your mech box, put the motor in, place your finger over the nozzle and press the trigger. This will also help you to hear a bit better on whats going on.

If all else fails, dont try too much to fix it if you are not comfortable with AEG's....its risky business. So dont just send it to anyone, find a local gundoc. It is much easier to bring the gun to someone than ship it. Also cheaper.

if at any point in time you hear a screeeching or binding sound, stop everything.

Just my thoughts...feel free to ignore.

First off...and although I do it plenty...you really shouldn't dry fire excessively. The impact to the front of your mechbox really does benefit from the "buffer" of having to push a bb down the barrel.

If you've got a fuse...check that first. If it locked up and you kept on the trigger, the fuse would have went.

Some more info that may help.
Q. What batteries are you using (voltage/mah)? If you were really going to town on it, if you were using 9.6v batts and/or if it's seen a lot of use, you may have excessive corrosion build up on the switch assembly contacts (inside the mechbox), or melted the switch assembly. This will decrease the amount of electricity that gets to your motor.

If your piston was left in a rearward position, and the electrical system is less than optimal, your motor may not be getting enough juice to crank the spring from start up.

If you can try a big battery (i.e. 8.4v large), it might be worth a try to get off 1-2 or 3 single shots to get the piston reset (or it'll weaken your piston).

Either way...get it looked at if you're not going to take it apart yourself.
