JG416
Hey all i have a problem with my JG416's shooting. The problem is that to achieve semi on semi mode you must gently press the trigger a little bit and semi will be achieved but if you pull the trigger fully back the next time you shoot it shoots full auto. Anyone know how to fix this?

I think it is just something that comes with buying a JG. My JG does the same thing. If you really do need semi auto as an option, then you would need to fix the Contact points.

Some others have expressed the same issue with their aegs as well. Its not just restricted to JG, its happened in a few CYMA's and I even recall 1 or 2 TM's. I would hit up a gun smith for a diagnosis the repair shouldnt be to extensive.

Relja,
I just rebuilt another JG mechbox and have the same issue, sort of. With a slow trigger pull you'll get FA on semi. A quick trigger pull on this mechbox will always shoot semi on semi (which is a bit of a different scenario from yours). I've torn into it twice and I'll play with the gears a bit more to try to get things working. Annoying as hell... |

What version of mech box are these things? V2? I had two of my CA MP5's do this right out of the box...problem was a defective cut-off lever! Upgraded to a Guarder and no problems since!
Have a look at the part:http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...srch_cut%20off

I wish I had more to offer. Unfortunetly mine does not suffer from any issues that others have stated. Its fairly inexpensive to replace the whole trigger set up if you order one from say ehobby, the prices are fair. But before doing anything envolving replacing anything its best to let someone find out what the exact issue first.

I'll be tearing into it tomorrow night. Relja's was a black v2 and the one I have on hand is a v1. I suspect that the cutoff lever is rubbing or hanging up on the sector gear. I've got a spare TM one and some other gears that I'll swap in.
On Relja's 416, I did hit both the "left" and "right" sides of the cutoff lever with a file to take off any sprue or burrs, but not enough to change the functioning/dimensions. There was a big burr on the "left" side of the cutoff lever, but it was moving freely. I'll post back more when I have something definite. There are limits to these JG mechboxes...and the tolerances are crap. Tys PS. Relja, I know you were in a hurry to get it back last time. If you want me to work on it more just get it to me and I'll keep going with it. I didn't like putting it out like that but we were running out of time. Let me troubleshoot with the mechbox that I have on hand and if I make progress with it, I'll shoot you a note to arrange something. Last edited by m102404; March 3rd, 2008 at 00:22.. |
