Upgraded hammer spring using more gas, and therefor not having enough gas for a whole mag and lockback?

I've got a KSC USP compact that I bought used here with a metal slide barrel and upgraded recoil spring. From the anecdotes here it seems to be a gas guzzler compared to other GBBs I can't say compared to other KSCs.

I can pull off 2.5 reloads with one mag and 3+ with the other. When I hold the low performer up to my nose I can smell the leaking propane.

I just got the mags in for a TM SIG 226 so I'll keep an eye on consumption as the days go by and be able to compare.

I really really really like the USP.

I was able to get 2 full mags (and then some) worth of shots out of a single 7-second fill with my KSC Glock 17 when it had the ABS slide. I've upgraded to a metal slide, stiffer recoil spring, and tightbore barrel. Now I can get about 1.5 mags worth of shots on one fill. I know the metal slide and stiffer spring contribute to that. I don't know if the tightbore barrel contributes to that extra gas useage or not, but I know I definitely don't get the same mileage with it since I upgraded. Still though, I don't mind giving the mags a quick 2 second top-up between reloads. With 4 mags, I don't see myself ever needing to reload mags in-game with an AEG as a primary.

i never even used the old ABS slide once i got it i went home and installed the metal slide kit. only bits that can be upgrade that are still stock is the inner barrel and hop-up parts.

i would be interested in finding out if the inner barrel makes any affect to the gas usage, i know they help increase FPS you would like a tight bore would help keep mileage up because less gas is needed to propel the BB.

The inner barrel does not affect gas consumption. Were you able to empty the magazine with one fill of gas prior to the upgrades? You might want to try that to see if any of the after-market parts are causing this issue.

i never ran with the stock slide, and gas consumption was bad because the mag that was in the gun had no gas inside so all the seals were buggered and there was a creak in the mag (if this came from the factory or transport) and i didn't buy a new mag till after most of the upgrades were installed.

when you fill your mags, do you have a nice seal with the propane tank and the valve in the mag?
there shouldnt be any gas spewing out when filling.
i'v had a propane adapter that i had to modify so it would seal correctly.

All my G19 mags have had this problem whether it's green gas or the propane adapter. Even had a new inlet installed in one mag and still does the same. To me it seems like a KSC problem.
