AK47 Motor Heat Problem

Hey all,

I just installed a systema FTK in my TM ak47 and now when I shoot the gun the motor gets warm and there is a slight smell of silicon grease. It shoots fine but the motor just runs hot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of FTK did you install? What's the spring rating? What kind of battery are you using? What kind of motor is it? Did you do the work yourself? Why is there grease on your motor that is able to burn off?

I'm using a panasonic NiMH 8.4v 3000 mAh battery, Eg1000, spring rating is m110, yes I did the work myself. I probably overgreased the gears... could the shimming job be off as well?

The best thing would be for you to show it to a local expert. There could have been many things you have done wrong, and unless we write you a novel our answers will be as much guesswork as you're facing right now.
