Looking for help to identify this 416

Hello people

I bought this h&k 416 used on here from a guy. I was told it was a vfc and it came in a vfc box. I was told that the trade marks do not look like a vfc. While replacing the trigger guard the lower receiver broke so I have to replace the lower which means I need to know the manufacturer. And if not I'd still like to know what brand it is thanks for any help you guys can give!

P.S. since you will need pictures and the forum doesn't like me send me a email for pics dustin.roesberg@gmail.com

Why not upload pictures to imgur or photo bucket, and use that little that img input button on the reply thread to put them in yo thread?

Based on those pictures I would say it is most likely a VFC body. It is certainly a VFC stock. The trades look quite the same as those on my 417. With that being said the CYMA 416 trades are similar to the VFC however the fit and finish on the vfc is leaps and bounds beter (the upper and lower are nice n tight with no rattles on the vfc the cyma tends to rattle a little and there is often a noticeable gap between the upper and lower. However all that said my 417 does have a small gap as well.
Also the add does state he's not sure of the make of body but could be vfc or d boys.

Can you take a photo of the bolt catch lever + pin?
Also, a photo of the receiver's left side?

From what I can see, it's an old DBoys HK416D receiver, based on:
  • The fake ambi selector on the right side
  • 416 rail bolt (small-gauge Philips head - looks stripped)
  • Right-side receiver markings do not match that of a VFC HK416D V1

The sales ad did say "possibly DBoys" so you did get what you bought.

Now in terms of replacing your lower, the DBoys is supposedly a clone of the VFC. So if you were to somehow find a VFC lower, I imagine it would theoretically work, possibly with some minor modifications. I wouldn't even bother with a 416 lower at this point though, just get any generic VFC lower, unless you're hung up on H&K.

^ Edit: This guy knows all

VFC Upper should have this, on the V2?

Lower should have those trades in the middle part. Hope it helps.

New pics are up and the trades on the left side read

HK

HK 416 D
Cal 5.56mm x 45
BY8011235606

The upper and lower are tight with now wobble. The right side selector is fake. I don't care what it is I just need to know what it is to replace it I don't feel ripped off at all

That's a D-Boys 416.

-The trademarks on the receiver are not in the correct location to be VFC.
-The receiver hardware does not look VFC at all. Mag catch is incorrect type, mock right side selector is incorrect, bolt release paddle is too thin to be a VFC. Dust cover is also incorrect colour.
-Rail retention screw is not VFC
-Front of lower receiver does not have casting marks consistent with VFC receivers

There's more, but I'm not gonna continue this shopping list.

The receiver breaking there is only a result of user error, not quality of the receiver. You have to support the area that you are hammering.

the mag release is not a vfc one for sure, it has a screw, vfcs thread into each other.

Here's the back of a vfc

The color of the finish seems different on yours so I'm definitely thinking it's a dboys.

I don't have a shot of if but the HK trades also look not as clean or as deep on your lower

I know what I did wrong I'm not saying g it's poor quality or the previous owners fault. This was the first time I moded my own gun and I learned my lesson. All I wanted to know is what brand it is so I can replace it. I'm told that all hk 416 bodies are compatible Maybe with some modification. But I still wanted to know what the base model is. Thank you all for your input it is greatly appreciated.

unless you can try it before buying, it's hard to say if it will fit or not. I had a body not fit a gearbox because the gearbox was too wide for the lower, and another where the rear pin did not line up with the gearbox. So if you have an opportunity to properly match it go for it, if not you're rolling the dice a bit. Though usually the most issue classic army being slightly off from my own experience.

You're in Calgary. Tonnes of players and some bricks and mortar stores. Grab the mechbox and the upper receiver and do some test fitting.
