Repainting HK416

Hi folks,

Recently picked up an HK416 by Umarex (VFC) used, its pretty beat up.
Wondering if it was possible to repaint the gun while preserving the painted on HK trademarks (I have the Asian version without the small text warnings etc.)

And if so, what paint would be best to match the current paint?

Or if anyone can do this for me (willing to pay, obviously)
I'm in the GVA.

Hard to say brother all depends what style you play.. Indoor/woodland/fall/snow/desert ect... The idea is to blend your weapon into your current load out which is based on your surrounding. Most popular these days are probably aor1/multicam/cadpat but the idea to cam your rifle is to do just that not keep trademarks.. If she's beat up I'd keep her like that, looks like she's been on a few tours.. If your a trade mark freak that is.. If not seek a pattern that fits you and 'your' game.

Ahh, I just bought it used and I'd be fine if I beat it up
but the previous owner liked going prone a lot or something because only one side is scratched to shit while the other is pretty much pristine (alternative solution, give gun to a leftie and tell them to go prone a lot).

Looks weird as it is. I like my trades and black guns (never got into the whole gun camo thing, as counterintuitive as it sounds).

Was just informed that the finish is probably powder coated. Thanks for the advice, nonetheless

Mine feels more like a hard anno than a powder coat. About the only way you could probably deal with scratches is to airbrush it and blend with old while masking the markings.

VFC/Umarex as well?
Where can I get a half decent coat job in Vancouver... Or anno.
Might as well order in a new lower receiver somehow.

I'd be very worried about the temperature from powder coating. You could wind up with the parts in a puddle of mush.

Read the painted guns thread and you should see some other jobs like this.

You're probably going to be doing it yourself. Getting a good painter to lay down a coat that looks like new is going to cost plenty. You'll be in new gun territory.
