Dboy RK03/AKS74 stock hinge fix

Just received a Dboy RK03/ AKS74 in a trade was playing with it in my man cave unfolded the stock and the hinge exploded. Is there any way to replace this hinge plate? I have not even had the chance to game this thing yet.

It's this exact reason I only buy Steel receiver AKs (EDIT: ALL STEEL built). The pot metal rear is a massive fail point on collapsible AKs.

If you're super handy with metal working, you could fill the rear flush and fabricate a rear trunnion for a fixed stock, but it would be cheaper just to buy a new receiver/AK.

Dboys is steel I believe?

Probably a poorer quality steel than LCT. Replace with an LCT from WGCshop would be my recommended course of action.

Well if you are ambitious and dont care about how it looks you could just get a spare hinge from say a cabinet and use that as the new bracket. Depending on how much space there is inside the receiver, you could mount the round part of a hinge inside there to replace the broken part.

I did this for the stock of a TM AK47 with good success.

That's definately a potmetal break + the main receiver is probably steel (it's thin walled as you can see in the picture) but the trunnion hinge is pot metal.

He got the normal dboys RK03 instead of the RK03S.

Difference in the two models are potmetal hinges instead of steel ones. And generally speaking potmetal upper sight block, gas block and front sight.

I can get a new steel receiver set from ken at 007 airsoft so I think that's what I will do. I am a welder fabricator so if worse comes to worse I will fix it myself.
