Cool Mech-BoX Noob! Halp!

Platform = VFC HK416 CQB
Operation - Spring change

Hey ASC!

So i bit the BB and went for my first self spring change (yeah felt like i discovered America)

I already changed the spring, but have not yet fired the AEG.

Concern #1 - Should i have had set up the teeth on the gear closest to the piston a certain way prior to closing the gearbox? , i think i just left it on the "open space of the gear" is that ...okay?

Concern #2 - That bloody black wire that connects to the motor (negative) some coil spring thingy flew somewhere, (maybe the 6th dimension) does that serve some sort of electrical purpose? or is it just to hold the wires into place.

Thanks !!

1.

that is fine. as long as the sector gear isn't meshed with the piston.

2.

manufacturers like to waste money by putting useless parts into things. What do you think?

You're talking about a little spring from the bottom of the motor? That keeps the brush pushed into the armature.. yes that is vital. post a picture of the spot the spring came from.

Hey man,

Cool i found the springs and i put the back the way they where.

So now im trying to slide the upper onto the lower and it's only going halfway into the front body pin (yes front pin is all the way out)...and im putting alot of power onto it, it wont slide in any further into it's closed position... on a YouTube video these guys where taking it apart with ease, mine to take it off i thought i had to bust out the rubber mallet..

Thanks

Force the back of the receiver up towards the upper. You gotta squeeze them together at the back, its a tight fit there.

Unhappy Almost...there..., @#$@!@#!!

:banghead:

Okay, as a note the bolt/paddle never worked since i bought this AEG.

I took out the bolt/paddle completely after these pictures to give it a shot and it didn't made no difference, other then sliding in the receiver past the first rear grooves.

The issue is evident in the second photo. The hook should go UNDER the silver plate.

The ease of assembling the upper and lower receivers together is entirely dependent on the order in which you install the mechbox into the lower receiver.

Hmm i haven't had time to fiddle with it yet, so to attach it would i have to press the silver plate in towards the pistol grip? and hook it to the shorter step??

What if i take the silver piece off entirely? whats the worst case scenario, the hopup cover won't close?

Thanks guys!

No.

You have to remove the bolt release lever completely (remove the retaining pin). Then reinstall it correctly (while depressing the bolt release lever on the right side of the gun) such that the bolt release lever arm hooks into the hole on the silver piece.

The bar should be parallel to your mag release.
