Looking for a GoPro Alternative (Spy Cam)
Hey guys,
I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative to a GoPro cam. I've been seeing a lot of China made spy cams and I'm thinking that this is the best option, since many of them are lower profile than the GoPro. Has anyone had any experience with ACM spy cams? Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Az-30fps-Min...item3f2241518b Google has been fruitless (outdated entries), so maybe someone can help me here? |

Check the wingman camera from Delkin. It's a GoPro style camera that seems to have good reviews in the web and is usually around 159.99$. Even has a built in screen at that price.

What do you want to do with the footage? If you want to use it for it's quality, no spy cam will do as they are low resolution.
If it's only for a project, then you can buy pin hole camera for very cheap. You will just need a kit to hook it to a SSD to record.

I was hoping to use it as an alternative to a GoPro... Filming stuff from a first person perspective and such.
I was aware that I would not get the same quality from a spy cam, but I've seen some ads for ACM spycams/small cameras with 1020p resolution despite being so small. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with those. |

The Wingman camera looks viable... It's little more expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for...

Spycams usually have very crappy quality
Also, 1080p means nothing in relation to quality; it just means that your output video will be that *big*, but doesn't mean anything about how *good* it's goig to look I've seen my share (ok not THAT mich but a few of them :P) of ACM 720/1080p cameras and all were crap; not to mention build quality, where when used in sports is pretty much important if you want it to last the day Expect having to pay around 150$ for something half decent, and make sure ton read plenty of reviews You said it, you get what you pay for Hope this help |
