M14 BB/Mag feeding issue?? Or is this normal?

So I'm not sure if this is a feeding issue, or what - maybe this happens with other TM M14 (or clone) rifles. I just figured it was common, but it doesn't hurt to ask

Essentially, I have a CYMA M14 EBR and when my magazine is "empty" and I go to remove it, there are about 4 or 5 BBs that just fall out of the chamber. Is this normal? It happens with all of my magazines and it may just be the hopup design.

Here is a picture of what the hopup looks like:

Could it be that the hopup stores a few BBs in that long tube and just never uses them?

Any tips would be appreciated

Prety much every aeg has this same issue. Some drop 3 or 4 some drop 6 or even 8.
Yes that is why becsuse the area between the top of the mag and the loading nozzle that pushes the bb into the barrel hold those extra bbs andbthere isnt and follower on the mag to feed those last few into the mag.
Some aftermarket hop ups for some guns (i know m4's for sure) have a small cutout in the bottom of the hop up that holds those extra bbs inside the hop up when you change mags so only 1 or 2 drop out of the top of the mag but most dont have this feature. Technically you could hold the gun upside down when you change mags to save those bbs but most of the time one or two will still drop from the mag into the magwell and youll have to turn the rifle back to clear those out in order to get the mag in and when doing that the rest will fall anyhow.
Its normal nothing is wrong with the gun or mag in that area.

Edit. See the lil divit to hold the small oring on this m4 hop up. The oring holds the bbs in the chamber to combat this loss of bbs.
As far as i know the m24 doesnt have one of theese and the cyma hop up is different from the tm style one. On the tm the feed tube is very short and you done loose so many bbs (2 or 3) you could maybe cut 2 notches nesr the bottom of the tube to put an oring in thatll hold the bbs but its prolly not worth the effort

Thank you for that super informative answer. I'm glad it's normal. I have a nice genuine TM M14 hop up on the way, so I may mod my old cyma one and see if I can get the rounds to stay in there. maybe even just a really thin rubber nub could work. One that's just thin enough to let them go by, but keeps them in at the same time... seems doable eh?

TM M14 mags and the CYMA ones I bought had a long follower, so only 1-2 BB fell out.

Also, keep in mind that 2000 cost 10$. If you change your mags 20 times a day, you "spent" 3 cents not shot at enemies (assuming 3BB fall out).

You will spent more money trying to avoid losing theses few BBs than what you "lost" in 10 years...
