I would say also stay away from eye wear with a pair of lenses held in a frame. Stick with the traditional one piece lens.
Without seeing picture of the goggle that failed the most likely outcome was the lens was pushed out of the frame allowing ingress of a BB.

Sadly this lesson had to be learned the hard way. Though I gotta say I've seen kidiots wearing snow boarding goggles. Not to mention that same person took them completely off their head during a game.

I love my mesh, I made sure to hit em with my 500fps bolt action a cpl times to make sure they wer tough enough for gaming, the places that dont allow mesh, I love my ess goggles got em at a surplus store used for like 30 bucks yes they wer well used but no scratches in the line of site , lil perma fog aroung the edges but nothin a new lense wont fix, if u want "cheap" goggles either buy surplus/used ess or go to crappy tire or walmart and buy some of them JT paintball deals for 30-40 bucks least they meet the minimum standards for eyepro and are from a large recognized company tha tu can sue if they fail.
plus then youll have PB goggles for the painball fields that only allow PB goggles. It is verry sad to hear about things like this lets hope this can help to educate others so this sort of thing stops happening.

Plus if you can afford to buy a 2-600$ pair of snowboard goggles you can probably afford some good balistic ones too. Just sayin.

A snowboard or motorcross goggle lens may be rated to the proper standard but the frame will have huge vents that will allow BBs easy entry.
Regular goggle frame ESS Goggle frame

This is the exact reason I always buy eyepro direct from the manufacture and ballistic rated z87.1+. Wouldn't dare trust anything else. You only have one set of eyes and they don't grow back. Always worth paying more in this case.
