What is the difference between IMAX B6 and B6AC Charger???
Could someone tell me the difference between the IMAX B6 and B6-AC chargers?
Im looking at the ones sold on Hobbyking, and it says "power supply not included".... so I also need to buy a power supply? Which looks just like the laptop power adapter |

The B6-AC has the power supply integrated in the charger... That's the only difference. So if you don't want an external power supply go with the B6-AC. It's the one I have and I don't have any problems with it.

Been shopping around for the B6-AC charger, and it seems like there are a lot of "FAKES" on the market. Is there a way to tell the authentic apart from the fakes?

I came across this issue too when I was shopping for a charger.
I found this: http://www.skyrc.com/ There is a skyrc authenticity check which can be found on their website: http://www.skyrc.com/antifake/indexen.php A lot of sellers claim their product to be genuine / real / authentic... but unfortunately that's not the case... So be careful. |

I recommend buying the B6AC from Hobby King as I can attest to them selling the real one (though there is the option on their site to buy the fake one as wll). I bought an Imax B6 from them and I find that the biggest problem at times can be finding a reliable power source, so I recommend buying the AC version and saving yourself the headache of finding an adapter that is reliable and to the specification of the charger.

AFAIK they get stock every 2-3 weeks. At least thats what I've seen when trying to order random parts from them. Too bad they restock at inconvenient times. When I have money it's backordered when it's in stock I've spent my spending money on other things....

I am a little disappointed that I was not sold the real product. However, the site did not make any claims as to the authenticity of the charger. I am further disappointed that a genuine B6AC is only $39.99USD on HobbyKing and I paid $75CDN from a Canadian retailer. I should have shopped around more. |

Why not contact the site and request a refund or cancel the charge to your CC.
I'd think you would be entitled to a refund if it were not explicitly stated as being counterfeit, otherwise I'd stop going to banks that don't have a sign reading "real money here!" |

A PSU is a PSU is a PSU. All it does it turn AC power into DC power.
As long as it advertises the ability to do the right mains voltage (generally 100-120V in NA, 220-240V in EU and Asia). This one is great: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html this one is probably fine as well: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...er_Supply.html Also I wouldn't push too much current through any of those PSU's/Chargers, I'm not convinced of their reliability to have a lot of current pushed through them and not blow up or catch fire. One more other thing, the B6 should be able to take a standard laptop brick charger. If you look at it, it seems similar kind of.

but if you bought it online and had it shipped, you're out the shipping fees BOTH ways - for an item worth only 30 - 40 dollars. |
