Madbull XMPB4 maintenance
One of my shells developed a leak. After reading some and piecing the various maintenance discussions together, I think I have an order of operation, but just want to make certain. If folks can correct me when/where I'm wrong, that would be great.
I assume I will require some 15-20 wt silicon oil and maybe a few dabs of ultralube. 1) Remove the fill valve and unscrew the "shell" from the "base". Separate the o-rings out. 2) Remove the firing pin assembly, setting aside pin, spring, 4 bearings and lock valve (sorry, don't know the actual name). Again, separate the o-rings out. 3) Inspect o-rings for tears and replace if necessary. I don't know if a warped o-ring needs to be replaced. 4) Soak the o-rings in silicon oil for several hours (1, 2, 6, 12, 24? not sure). 5) Remount o-rings. Small dab of ultralube/silicon grease on the bearings (?) and set back into the lock valve. Save oil for future soakings. 6) Reverse assembly. Perform gas seal check (shell in a ziplock bag looking for bag inflation). Am I doing this right? Thanks in advance. |

Warped or out of round when removed is fine. key is that it looks right when installed. - don't need to soak them just rehydrate them. Soaking them will cause them to become engorged and potentially become damaged when you fire the made as it will be too large. - use something like sticky G oring grease to hold the bearings in place.
