TM 50rd long mag leaking...

im having a long overdue headache...

My TM 50rd long mag is leaking on the bottom where the 2 pins goes.... It was leaking quite some time after used since I got it, I thought the big oring inside the gas fill base was worn out, so I changed to a new oring gotten from evike.. I even tried fit in a little bit of taflon tape where the oring seats... still its leaks...

Any suggestion to fix this??

The main problem, that I found, is when you use too much, or just enough silicone based sealants they degrade and end up everywhere in your GBB, like the nozzle. I was using GE Silicone II 100% silicone and I found that for some time after install I was cleaning the inner barrel and the nozzle contantly trying to clear the gunk that the silicone left. It does work, but there's more cleaning involved...
Blue gasket maker, I found to be the best for sealing magazine o-rings as they stop the leak and if you need to take them apart you can. It stays where it's applied and if you need to clean old gasket maker out, you have to use a utility knife or similar to get rid of it. IMO, blue gasket maker is the way to go to improve your seals.

Make sure you let the mag sit empty for 24hrs after reassembling so the gasket maker can cure fully. If you don't, you'll be pissed that you have little bits of the stuff all through the internals of your GBB.

No gunk or residue with the blue gasket shown in the link that I have posted above. It is the way to go I let them cure for 48 hours and np whatsoever.

My warning was to let the mag gasket cure unpressurized for 24hrs. I came up with the entire fix years ago, and at one point I waited 12hrs and that was the result, so I have to stress to people the need to wait is the only way this fix can work. I know the excitment of "Did it work?" can get the best of us, and the urge is strong to fill it with gas after a couple hours to see if the leakking got fixed.

Alternatively, I use a nearly empty propane tank and give a quick 1/2 second blip of gas. Anything more or with a full tank will blow your fresh gasket seal.

My theory is that slight outward pressure will help seal the mag better and locate any areas that were too thin to begin with. I have had success with many gbb and gbbr mags with this method. I do not give a full gas charge until its fully cured. Minimum 24 hours in the summer or 2-4 days in cooler months.

Before any mag is inserted into a gun, I will give it a full fill and vent the entire mag inspecting for any chunks of gasket maker. If there's signs of residue, I will vent until there's none but that has only happened once or twice when I needed to rush a mag for someone.

Another thing I do is gas it up with the tank upright and adapter on top. Helps prevent liquid propane transfer.

Whatever you do, do not use silicone caulking. It doesn't work and will just leak when it dries. Buy the proper gasket maker/sealer for engines, and the ones that can withstand chemicals and cold temperatures. If you're gonna go this route, do it right the first time or you'll spend a butt load of hours scraping the shit off.
