bearing spring guide?

should bearing plates be used in pairs? I just noticed the other day when I was filing a piston tooth down that I only have 1 bearing guide on the piston side, on the spring guide, it's just a pair of washers. Should I get a new spring guide that has one or will I be fine without for a while?

Just one is totally fine. In fact sometimes having two can screw everything up, since they take up more space that the spring usually has to work in. This in turn locks up the gun if the spring fully compresses before the piston gets released.

1 is OK, 2 is OK (if it doesn't bind up your spring). 1 is better than none, and 2 doesn't really change much over 1. Usually if you change out your spring guide and piston they'll have bearings on both though, most aftermarket parts do.
