Hop up problems on AK

Ive got an Ak47 that needs repairs, it appears the hop up nozzle does not go back far enough to allow bb's to enter the hop-up.

The gun was sold to the owner and believed to be a Real Sword AK. I had never seen an AK like this one, so I assumed it was. I am used to working on SRC, G&G, ICS and classic army AK's, but this one was built differently. I am used to unscrewing screws on the front of the barrel assembly to remove the gearbox, but this one comes apart simply by removing an L shaped piece, moving the hop-up unit forward and pulling out the gearbox.

Upon opening the gearbox, I noticed that the gears had XYT stamped on them and the motor has www.chaoli-cn.com being the only indicator of what the motor is. The receiver also has russian markings I believe and not chinese like the type 56-1, the owner bought this gun second hand and was told it was realsword, but apart from having what appears to be a stamped receiver, I am not sure.

Any ideas as to what company this is, and what might be the problem with the loading nozzle? I believe it just needs a new loading nozzle, as there seems to be no wear on the tappet plate or the sector gear.

Thanks

If the owner was told it was a RS he got boned. What you are describing is a Dboys AK.

That is what I thought, I had seen some info pointing the XYT gears towards multiple companies, including DBoys.

Any suggestions on the misfeed / hop up problem? Should I order a new hop-up nozzle/loading nozzle?

Your nozzle is probably the cause.

take it out and measure it. I find aftermarket ones can vary quite substantially.

I believe stock Marui nozzle is about 20mm long.

My 5KU ones are 21.3mm long
My Element ones are 19.94mm long

Measure yours and if it needs a smaller one, order the Element replacement.
