kwa mkiv disassembly

Hey,

I'm wondering how to remove the barrel and recoil rod from the slide on the KWA m1911 mkiv ptp. I've hunted online with no success. Everybody just stops at separating the slide from the frame and then they go blab on about their "review" monotone style.

There are many videos on the mkii, but the mkiv doesn't have the same retention clip/bushing on the front of the slide like most 1911s - so I can't figure how to get that recoil rod outta the way.

Thanks.

Found this: ‪1911 Bushingless Bull Barrel Assembly / Disassembly‬‏ - YouTube

I can fit an allen key in there and move the whole guide rod assembly back - but - I can't wiggle it out of the slide. It's like there's not enough clearance!

So it has a bull barrel with no bushing?

Squish the spring guide rod and guide rod bushing FULLY together, then take out the entire assembly by sliding it back and up/out.

Finally! Thanks Styrak, you've been super helpful always! Your tip worked. I also had to remove the allen key while using my fingers to keep the rod and sleeve together.

Yup, no tools required. Just use your fingers.

Oh shi...... I just found a 3-4mm long scratch in my inner barrel after inspecting it. It's around 7 o'clock of the barrel right under the hop up and after the rubber entrance.

How bad is that? Will it even be a problem or am I going to need a replacement barrel?

It will screw you shots. But at pistol engagement range, nothing to go crazy.

Your Mk4 disassemble the same way as any 1911 with a bushing. You just need to skip the bushing removal part like it's already out.
