Cylinder question

Ive disassembled a couple of guns so far (including mine) and i couldnt help but notice the hole in my cylinder was placed differently than all of the others gun..

My gun has the hole facing towards the side, meaning i can see it when the gearbox is fully assembled. (was that way when i first took it apart)

Other guns had the hole facing down (toward inside of the gearbox...like facing the tappet plate)

Any reasons for that?
Does that change anything?

Doesn't matter, although the standard is to make it face the side.
It's called a port by the way.

Personal preference but I have it to the side as I'd rather not blow too much silicon grease onto the switch assembly. Not that much gets blown out, but just a personal preference.
