Will a large 9.6v 3600MaH Intelect Battery fit in an Aftermath Kraken Stock
Hey,
My battery is coming in this weekend. I just want to conform, will this battery http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=998 Fit in a full stock aftermath kraken with the lateral supports cut out? Here is a pic of the stock with the supports cut out. Thanks in advance.

It should but you will need to modify the stock and cut out the internal ribs with a loose saw blade to make it fit. It will not fit without the modifications

did your kracken come with a large 8.4v battery originally? stick it in and measure how much space you have left.
then, take your 8.4v battery and look at it. it's orientation is 3 cells x 2 rows plus one sideways at the bottom. since 9.6v is 1.2v more than an 8.4v (assuming it doesn't say what each cell is) measure out what it might look like with 4 cells x 2 parallel rows. edit for reference Note the difference: 8.4v 9.6v Last edited by coach; March 16th, 2010 at 20:25.. |

the stock kraken battery is bigger than a mini batt and smaller than large battery. it sorta in the middle.

Yeah, I replaced the connectors to some large types. I measured the remaining space in the stock when the 8.4 original was in there and I had 1.5 inches of leftover space. I measured a cell on the battery, and assuming that the cells on the intelect 9.6 battery on the same size I should have a half inch left over space

Inside the stock are plastic ribs (and the plastic round spacer in the middle of the stock you see in the above pics, cut these out) down each side that hold the stock battery from rattling around in any TM or Cyma ak with a plastic stock.
If you cut these out you can fit a larger battery in the space on an angle if you sand down or remove the plastic on each side. It takes some work but I have done it to all my TM AK stocks and they fit 9.6v sanyo Nicad 2000 MAH batteries. Yours battery may be slightly bigger but should still fit.

Alright, after some cutting, sanding and bleeding, I have 2 inches of space between the original 8.4 battery and the end of the stock. I think I should be alright
