Battery experts, check this.
Hey guys. I bought a TM Mp5 today, and got the Pirahna Digital Peak Charger and a 7.2V 1500mah battery. (Ew, I know. 7.2V).
I bought the gun used, and it was firing nicely, and all of a sudden it stops firing. When I pull the trigger, I can hear the gearbox try to cycle. (Sounds exactly like when you pull the trigger of the gun when then battery is dead.). The seller tells me to charge the battery. (Even though my multimeter says it has 60% life, but I know as batteries lose life, they also lose voltage.) Now, I tried the battery again. Without it charged, just to see whats what. If I pull the trigger, the problem above happens. BUT, heres the catch. The wires coming from the gun to the connector, are getting HOT. The wires coming from the connector to the battery are slightly warm. Whats the deal here? I'm currently charging the battery now.

Are you holding down the trigger or repeatedly trying to fire it despite it not being able to turn over the gears?

How about you try using a correct battery (8.4+V) instead? Maybe you'll have better luck then trying to turn over a gear box with a battery not designed to do it.
If you still have a problem with a proper battery, then you know there's an issue with the gun.

Your 7.2 at a 60% charge doesnt have enought Mah available to cycle your rifle. Charge the battery and try it again.
My suggestion is you use at minimum an 8.4 1100. The reason why it's getting hot is because you're still trying to cycle power through the rifle, altough there's not enough power to cycle the weapon so the power is going to the motor, the motor tries to spin, but can't, and it heats up... Intellect makes good batteries... 8.4 1600's for cheap on Ebay. |

I held down the trigger for about 4 sec. I tried to fire semi, about 3 trigger pulls.
The seller says the 7.2V battery worked perfectly in it for the time that hes had it. I dont currently have a 8.4V battery. Theres a battery store in town, but I'm not sure if they'd let me test the battery. (Or test one of theirs on my gun, and I dont think bringing a gun into the store would be smart.) Edit: Thanks for quick replies. I'll charge the battery, try it when its done. Hopefully it will work. Then I'll go out and buy a 8.4V. EDIT2: Woot. Gun works perfectly. Gonna buy a 8.4V tomorrow.
