off topic but.
When did full auto markers come into the world? When I was playing league ball they were non existent except on a few boards. 1 ball per pull..... Mind you I was a speed baller... I tried bush ball but even in my brothers old CF OD's my chrome gun didn't blend in... wonder why. lol Thank god I came to the dark side. |

Are you guys using cold steel (training rubber knife) in game to make surprise silent eliminations? Or it is not common practice? |

Well I just watch a few Airsoft vids and they are most all about spraying on full auto's with high caps. So I guess that no matter paintball or airsoft you find people playing like that. One support guy in your team is fine, everybody on full auto with hi caps or 250 balls loader is not! Also spraying with a Milsig with only 18 balls per clip...don't think so man!

You always get the odd bunch of guys who spray the fuck out of everything, it happens.
Some people just have an itchy trigger finger. Depending on the amount of guys playing, 1,000 rounds usually does me and I always use semi. It's all based on the player. Sure some ballers have the mindset to spray the fuck out of anything that moves, I've seen it and then I've seen the easy goers who shoot less.

I bet if BB's were as expensive as paintballs you would see alot less "support" players.
Also on that note alot of milsim crowds won't let someone with an AK47 and a hicap be a support player, they have to actually have the support weapon. Throwing a box mag on a g36c and calling it an MG36 will get you flamed. On another note how ever there are alot of easier going players around too. Referred to as Film sim. They are normaly the ones that will be on, you guessed it, film so thats why you see them more on youtube.... and they like to feel like Rambo with a ton of ammo and *kill all the bad guys*. I have played with both, they all get hit the same. Tactics over ammo capacity. |

Milsim paintball is few and far between. The "spray and pray" tactic is the predominant one I've seen.

Since some things haven't been said here, or has he been answered yet, I'll toss in some stuff.
The number you see for spring strength refers to the velocity will shoot in a standard test set up at the factory. No idea what the set up is, but the number you see is in meters per second, so a 100 should be around 330fps, a 110 should be around 360fps, a 120 should be around 390fps. Different manufacturers use different test set ups though (I say test set up because I can't see them using a gun to test with), so you get different velocities out of the same rating spring. Aka: A Prometheus 110 spring might net you 360fps, a Modify 110 might get you 390fps, a Madbull 110 might net you 425fps (these are what I've seen in my gun tech days).............. I'd recommend also the Modify springs, they are the most predictable springs as far as ratings go, get the 100 spring, it should sit you around 370fps). Modify also makes some pretty impressive parts too, exceptionally good for the price you pay. Madbull, I haven't seen too many good things come out of that company. |

This method of playing is much more like the real deal, because when someone that you hit call himself "hit" you now know that he is out of the game. When you hit someone and you don't know if he is out or not, you cannot advance as fast, you must be cautious and use tactics alot more, also you have to have trigger control for not overkilling the dead guys lying on the ground. Since we only play touch, Airsoft side-arms are tolerated but only airsoft side-arms not primarys. We also use claymore with BBs since we play touch. We use medics and if you are hit on the arms or legs, well you are not out but only injured. If hit on the leg, you cannot move but still shoots, and the reverse if you are hit on an arm. Once a medic fix you, you a ready to fight again. But head shot and torso hit means that you are dead automaticaly. Most of the players use tac-cap which means they have a max of 50 balls on their loader at all time. Tac-cap can be modify to fit from 30 to 50 balls. Also most Milsim players plays with 50 balls pods, not 140 ones. Even some play with pods that contain only 30 balls. We play also with firecracker attached on a ball, to serve as grenade (because paintball grenade sucks), if it lands within roughly 6 feet of you, your are out and if it lands in a closed room, you are out automatically. We use cold steel knife too, so when you kill someone with a knife, he must remain quiet and not make any sound. The ultimate stealth kill that we can pull off from times to times. Lastly there is no mendatory "freeze zone" so you can be shot pointblank range, so it is really not for everybody. So that's about it, so as you can see it is really Milsim stuff, not woodsball. I know how milsim paintball works.
Sorry, my comment wasn't that "spray and pray" is the predominant tactic in milsim paintball, I meant it's the predominate tactic instead of proper milsim paintball.
