Possible bad magazine on Lycaon / Cyma CM027-J

My son's Cyma CM027-J started misbehaving today.

Looking for opinions on what may be wrong.

- Fill/wind the magazine, pop it into the gun, and it fires fine for a few shots then dry fires
- Removing/replacing magazine sometimes works again for a few shots
- on its own - magazine seems to feed the BBs fine, ie. pull back the spring and the BBs shoot out.
- When removing the magazine, a few bbs fall out - also normal, I think as a few are in the short tube leading up to the barrel
- if I drop single BBs in without magazine, it fires fine everytime. So I would eliminate the firing components from being the problem.

So it seems to be a loading problem. I've seen comments about the stock magazine with the gun (purchased from buyairsoft.ca) was cheap. So this is leading me to thing its the source of the problem.

- It all looks clean and fine - no sign of dirt/grease/grime of any sort.

Before I go and buy a replacement - does it sound logical? If I knew someone locally with the same gun, I'd try their magazine... but I dont. Local guys all have Cdn Tire guns - and I doubt they are compatible.

Thanks!

did you leave the BBs loaded in the mag for a long time(wound)? That will weaken the spring inside the mag.

Yes - thats possible. I'll check with my son, but I think he may have left it wound for most of July (too much rain - he airsofts in a nearby wooded area).

They shoot out of the magazine pretty well when I open the feed manually, and it doesnt get any better with more winding.

Still the best answer may be to try another mag.
