KJW Leaking mag solution!

Hi guys,
This has probably been posted here but I didn't see it and someone mentioned this to me a few weeks ago and I finally got around to trying it and it worked perfectly so i thought I'd share! I had a KJW Glock 23 standard 20rd mag that was leaking from the bottom (around the base of the mag, not the fill valve) and all I had to do to fix it was take the bottom of the mag off and wrap some teflon tape around it! Works perfectly now, holds the gas just fine! I'd imagine it should hold for a while.
Just thought I'd share in case anyone was in the same situation. Cheers

What did you wrap the tape around, exactly?
My solution for my leaking KJW P229 mag was to put a new o-ring in the bottom.

Im not in the pistol market (began in Airsoft a week ago)
but I read a bit about KJs and their mags seem leaky.
At least its possible to fix almost all of it.

That's exactly how I heard about it. From another guy like me who swears by KJW because of their full metal built and internals and good price, but their mags do get leaky without proper maintainence. Anyway, he told me all his mags are leak free now because of this.

Remove the bottom plate of the mag, and there's a little screw. Take that out and the bottom of the mag comes out with the fill valve. There's a rubber ring around that that had a little nick in it, so I wrapped the teflon around that and push it back in, screwed it in, and filled. Baam, no leak!

I too have taken my mag apart,( some have 2 pins on the side of the mag that need to be pushed out) I wrapped Teflon around the inside base and pushed that in ,but instead of using the original " 0" ring that sits on the filler screw ,I put teflon around that too , tightened all up and BOOM , no more leaking mag (so far )

i also do the same and to tell you imo it fixes everything worng with the mag the only thing i do special is have extra feed lips for my m9 just in cause but so far non have broken.

Gasket sealer also works great. I've fixed a USP mag leaking from the bottom with it.

DO NOT USE GASKET MAKER ON GBB MAGS!!

Eventually it dries up then you get tiny bits of gasket in your pistol's internals and clogging up all your valves... I had to clean gasket out of 3 MK23 mags... and they STILL don't work.

My gun was sold long ago but last I heard that mag was still going strong. I'll get the exact brand and type I used later as there's a ton of different kinds.

Would this also work for KSC magazines? (glock)

I'd try that first. It's easier and there's no need to wait for it to set. I could just never get it to stop leaking with just teflon so I went to gasket sealer.

After using the teflon ,I then placed the mag under water to look for bubbles ,,,you see a few at first as the mag settles , then nothing ,, however i can get only about 20 shots out of a mag,

Thanks for the thread ") I had a leaky mag that was buggin' me fer a while there. Operative word being 'had' ")
