Polished bolt

I have a JG HK416, and I want to polish the bolt (hop-up cover). How do I do this without scratching the shit out of it? Thanks.

Take a dremel, buy some felt polishing wheels. Then use some polishing compound, apply to the fake bolt and polish w/ the wheel.

You can find all @ Canadian Tire. The polishing compound comes in the form of a tube, in three "grits". Start w/ the lowest and work your way up to the highest.

Although be warned, your shiney new bolt will soon oxidize and turn a dull grey.

is it possible to find Trichloroethylene anywhere?

I know hat it removes paint very efficiently, but I haven't seen any at my Canadian Tire or Rona.

Clear coat with some Kylon clear....

They have 3 finishes, flat, satin and gloss

coat is harder if you put a few coats of gloss before finishing with flat or satin.

easiest and most realistic way is to paint it flat black then rub graphite on it. Just take a pencil and shave the graphite off with a knife, put it on your finger and rub the bolt with it. looks just like worn metal. No need to seal it.

Or buy some aluminum tape from Walmart, press on as much as you need (after degreasing it of course) then use something that won't tear the tape and press it into the grooves and such and rub to polish/adhear it better. Won't be a mirror finish but will be a dull aluminum colour.

If you want a mirror finish, I have a special paint at my work place... it is like chrome.

You need to perfectly polish the surface. I would recommend doing a nice polish job, then spray with some cristal coating (be it paint or clear). The surface need to be as shinny as possible before the paint is applied. The smoother it is, the best chrome it will be. You just have to add any clear coat you want.

It is made to paint RC cars bodies.
It is mirror enought to shave in it.
