As debuted at Tokyo Black Hole Show 2007:

Gas is apparently held in the bolt, with enough gas for (allegedly) 100 rounds.

A shame they don't have any video of it firing / cycling, or whatever a gas powerd bolt action would do.

Wow, finally a STAR I would consider buying. Shame about the gas though, unless it's an external regulated rig I find they're far less consistent and a lot more finnicky than a spring rifle. Build looks great though.

Depending on how the gas goes into the bolt like if it goes into the bolt from the cocking handle area you may be able to do it just need a rotating fitting. and the right fitting to get it into the reservoir

From the vid, there is a valve in the center of the bolt, not the cocking handle area. You actualy have to pull the bolt back to fill it.

Indeed. Regardless of any Counter-Strike stigma around this gun, the AWM is a beautiful weapon, but until now, the L96, APS, and AICS guns were all hollow chunks of plastic. This star model looks like it has some real mass to it, alot more beefy appearance.

I daresay the Tanaka M700/AICS is a little bit more than a "hollow chunk of plastic" or "useless". It weighs nearly 10 pounds, unloaded and unscoped - that's 3 pounds MORE than a real-steel M700 BDL! When you have people regularly getting 120+ yard kills and 8"-10" groupings at 60 yards with a 600 fps monster, I'll take the "wait-and-see" approach to determine if the STAR model is capable of that kind of performance.

Thats true, we were all wet waiting for Star AEGs when they 1st came out, and performance wise, they had alot of issues.
