For a tactical light, you want a center focused light with a wide diffused ring of light around, with no blind spot. All surefire give you that.

From my experience, knockoff chineese light are way over rated. Their light is not ballanced (not white, more yellow or too blue (LED). Their reflector is not always good.

You get what you pay for. The Surefire G2 is really good and sub 100$.

I curently have 2 surefire, an E2D and a 6P LED Defender. The E2D has seen a lot of action and it's still kicking hard. I had to change the bulb after 5 years of use. The body of the light has some wear, but still solid as a rock. Life time warranty... that speak for itself.
