Well, to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure. I've only briefly disassembled my M3, and so I don't really know my way around its internals.

It almost sounds as if it is jammed in the cocked position, which is probably a result of the BB stuck in there since the piston heads won't be able to return to the relaxed position. This means the spring is compressed. Since the spring is compressed there is no resistance to the pump handle, thus it would be very easy to pump. Also, it won't catch the spring, because the spring is already compressed. (well this is my theory anyway).

So, getting that BB out could solve all your problems
