That's true. Although 400 fps out of these particular guns is setting a very high mark that you cannot do with a stock rifle without damaging it. It is achievable in either gun but you need some serious upgrades that cost a small fortune (steel bolt carriers and that kind of stuff) and it isn't really necessary. I get around 350-360 fps on 140 psi with the M16 and that makes it good to beyond 50 yards.

Both guns have fixed hop. They are typically meant to be used with a certain BB weight only. The original Sun Project M16 was tuned to use .28g if I'm not mistaken. Luckily Xtreme Tactics brought in a pile of PHX .28s and after running a bottle through a few different guns, I cleaned them out of everything they had. Adjustable hop mods are available but I haven't seen the need for it; this thing literally SAILS rounds downrange.

I will say this, classics are finnicky. Much more so than AEGs. Even if you get one in working condition you can expect to do regular maintenance on it that will cost you more than an AEG will. All depends on whether the benefits are worth it to you.
