But everything must be put in context. BDU's camoflage is still a static way to reduced your visual signature. CAPDAT people are almost invisible in pine trees, but are black lego blocks in urban setting or open field. I will use again that quote from someone else on the forum... "CADPAT is excellent in one place... multicam is adequate in many"

This is a tactical choise. As for me, it's multicam all the way. More that half of the modern battles are in urban, semi-urban context. Soldiers are surrounded by ruins, bricks, concrete, broken trees and urban parks. Add some dust and rain...

Usually, it take 3 sec to acquire a target and fire... camouflage should raise that to 1-2 sec more... so a guy trying to fire at you will take 4-5 sec to do so. A camouflage will make your enemy hesitate before opening fire.

Of course... sometime you will be completly invisible. You cannot fire at something you can see.

The camouflage discussions seem to be a endless one, but like many military tactics, you're real weapon is your brain. Use it wisely.
