Garrison boots were similar to the ankle boots in their construction. Stiff, uncomfortable leather, prone to cracking and being gouged by just about anything. Too much hassle to constantly reshine/repair and in general felt like wearing reinforced cardboard. Don't waste your money. You're better off getting a pair of black leather work boots from Mark's Work Wearhouse when they're on sale.
