An update, I stripped her down again and put the stock hammer spring back in... the problems are now solved!!!! YEAH!!!
Shoots nice... seems the Guarder hammer spring is too stiff, and i wasn't about to wait for it to soften up. Perhaps the Proud hammer spring would be a better solution? The stock spring performs well though so i think i'll stick with it for now.
