As a lefty I can tell you I can use almost any sidearm without trouble. You don't need ambi controls as a lefty, you can get by just fine power stroking the slide instead of depressing slide release. The only gun I will tell you to stay away from is any 1911 without a ambi safety.

the middle of your index finger can be used to release mags on most standard guns.

Some glock can be switched to right side mag release

Sig can aswell

FNX 45 and PPQ are both full ambi as far as I know (not tokyo mauri) :P
