Yeah, if you're running a crane stock the extra compartments may have space for it. Again depends on the stock but a magpul CTR for example, you'd have trouble getting it to lowest setting because most 1200mAh lipos stick out just a hair, at least with my buffer tube and the internal buffer tube plug depth. Other brand's buffer tubes may differ. A crane stock is also a little bit longer than a magpul ctr stock.
I either use my specially purposed buffer tube lipo, which is only 1000mAh and small and short, or if I run a slightly bigger 1200mAh lipo, it sticks out of the buffer tube. ANd since the magpul CTR is short and extends not much more than the length of a standard buffer tube, i'd have to use it at first extension setting when running a larger capacity lipo.
