I think his model has a black barrel, so after cutting and polishing it would also need a bit of black paint.

It's still what I'd do.

Or course, my KJW has a silver barrel so no paint was required.

I also cut the barrel right at the edge of the orange paint. The amount that sticks out seems to be in keeping with photos of real M1911 pistols.
