Totally clear (ie. like Canadian Tire and Aftermath stuff) is perfectly fine for importation, when you try it with smoked/tinted frames/receivers that's when you might get trouble (as it gets sent for review and you only get it a year later). But then again CBSA is weird and might hold a totally clear gun for years on end, only to give it to you like 20 years later.
