[QUOTE=Wildlife;1388355]Hmm, I'm still waiting to receive my A&K SVD, I have no hands-on experience with it yet; but I've been working in precision sheet metal/machining for 15yrs now.
I'd think a stripped screw would have the opposite effect (not hold the barrel in). There is two screws holding the outer barrel assembly in place, one on each side; maybe you missed the second screw...?
Stripped threads can be drilled & re-tapped to a slightly larger size; for instance, a stripped M3X0.5 tapped hole could be drilled through to 3mm and tapped for a M3.5X0.6 screw. Means you need a different screw, but it beats having a buggered gun.
Or, if you must keep the original thread size, a machine shop could install a heli-coil.

To be honest, i dont have any metal machining experience at all beside fixing my own bike like the head? the place where i put the allen key. the key wont grip so i cant loosen the screw. sorry for the confusion. but i can tell you this gun is pretty amazing. may be its my bad luck with the screw because kylem had no problem with his and he have 2 videos on his A&K svd.
