Socom Gear Daniel Defense MK18 9.5 Inch RIS-II on ICS m4

Hey guys has anyone tried to mount one of these things onto an ICS M4? when i try and screw the part that holds the rail to the body of the gun, the threads lock and so it cant screw all of the way on. has my rail just have a bad set of threads or is it just not compatible with the body?

ICS receivers are threaded differently. Imperial as opposed to most receivers which are metric.

The subject has been posted/discussed to death on ASC.

The Socom Gear Daniel Defense lite rails I have 7" and the 9" are RS threads.

This is off the Redwolf site,Quote:The SOCOM Gear Daniel Defense Omega Rails are constructed using Real Steel Specs and thus will only fit on the Systema PTW series AEGs, as well as Prime?s (WA) Western Arms M4 metal Bodies without the need for modification.

ah ok as for the ICS having diff threads i did not see anything about that when i was looking up the ICS bible guide etc(although ive been extremely over tired so i probably scanned right over it >_<)

The thread on ICS M4 upper receiver is the same as TM M4, so whatever it states that it fit TM then it should fit on ICS as well. That's coming from me who got experience with ICS M4. The worst parts is using the re thread tool from Mad bull to re thread upper on ICS otherwise just be careful using rotary tool like my buddy.

I'm not recommend to do it since if you mess up then your upper is done.

quick question, are RS threads metric or imperial? Are G&P WA metal bodies such as the magpul PTS body imperial or metric? I tried to install a noveske ras from madbull once but it needed modification to fit.

I believe that the RS threads are metric.

Hey buddy, I guess you bought the one off JOC for $100?

I have another MK18 9.5" rail coming in I want to see if I can get on a GBBR, if it doesn't work, we can trade maybe.

This is a bit confusing, are you saying that the TM compatible delta rings will fit ICS; or that they require modification/rethreading?

Yes, whatever compatible for TM then it would for ICS as well. I'm talking about front set.

So then the big question now is whether or not those daniel defence systems are TM compatible....I just assumed that they were.

What brand are those Daniel Defense systems ? If it's D-boy then it would probably fit and forgot about Madbull or G&P made, you will need to either modify your upper or RAS system.
