The Best Hand Protection

I need new gloves! Help.

Strangely I rarely get hit in the head, or chest always the hands, especially thumb!

Thats where most gloves are unprotected

I was eye balling some gloves so far and I am not going to cheap out on gloves as I feel like internal bleeding in my finger nails is not a nice thing to see and painful too.

This one I have but its hard to manoveur in them very clunky and no thumb support

I shy away from gloves like these as I feel they look flimsy unless you prove me wrong

This one I think looks pretty good, and looks like they have good thumb support too.

Or unless at the local Home Depot/ CDN Tire/ Rona has any good gloves that are easy to use and are not clunky I'll go for those

So which gloves have you used and found to be the best?

And please no gauntlets... or trolls to keep this clean

Wileys, and Oakleys are the best out there for protection. BHI Solags are nice too...

Hatch "specialists" are awesome for CAPS/IPSC oriented shooting.

Thanks a loads and I assume these will be at the local Home Depot/C-itre/Rona?

Oakley's! Worth every cent!

Blackthorne September 16th, 2008 10:15

Nope. They are tactical gloves and you won't find them at the local Rona.

These are the SOLAGs and are the only thing I will use at this point airsoft or otherwise.

Ohhh nice

Do you have any problems when getting hit in the thumb?

Where did you order them from?

Blackthorne September 16th, 2008 10:22

Google Hellstorm SOLAG and you will get a ton of links to vendor sites.

Yes Google always works, but I was asking do you remember where YOU ordered them from? So I know that I can at least rely on one company that the gear will for sure come

Blackthorne September 16th, 2008 10:25

I buy them when I travel to the US.

cbcsteve September 16th, 2008 10:45

Alright thanks, I hope these will protect my nails from internal bleeding and from turning nasty black

FOX_111 September 16th, 2008 10:59

I have the old SOLAG version that don't have hard padding on the back of the hand. They are great gloves. I'v been hit on the fingers with them. It still hurt like a bitch, but I never got any bleeders or dark nails. Coincidence maybe. I use the gloves so I don't cut myself climbing on stuff in CQB.

Ever since I cut my hand climbing trough a window in 2003, gloves are always on me in CQB.

These are really good. I like them a lot. They are pricy, but worth it IMO.

I bought a pair of goatskin construction gloves with reinforcing at each finger joint. Very flexible. and I have been hit in the hand with no problems. I picked them up at HOme Depot for $19. They were yellow so a couple of tins if RIT dye and now they are black.

I just picked these up for overseas from Fort Drum;

I use mountain bike gloves. They have padded/armored rears designed to protect your hands from getting lashed by branches and twigs, reinforced palms, very breathable and most importantly they're still thin enough to provide excellent tactile feedback. The model I have (older generation FOX Sidewinders) have rubbery finger tips for improved grip, allowing you to manipulate things without slippage.

I use/abuse these for a lot of things, from airsoft to driving to camping to weights. They're fully washable and after 8 years they're still in great shape.
