Choosing High Quality Gun
 

Hello All,

I am finally age verified, and now I want to buy a gun, I have read the thread for beginners and have decided for now that I would like to buy a gun that is High Quality, Durability, Full Metal, Preferably something that I can use stock because I am still in my learning stages. I will perform my learning on a lower end gun, but I still want to have a good one for games.

I have read good things about ICS about the split mech or gear boxes.

I am open to suggestion (preferably a AK or M4 Model), My price range is around 800$ ish...

I love G&P. They are delicious.

Why not? Armalites are amazing. I know alot of people have complained how they like the V3 better but I don't find them that problematic.
However, the motor mounts on V3's are a nice touch.

I think armalites are some of the best for beginners. Easy to make external upgrades to, easy to find accessories, and easier to work on than say a CA M14 lol

If you've worked around all types of internals and guns, including V2 and V3 mechboxes you'll say the same thing as I do.

there's a reason why all gun docs reccomend V3 guns over V2 guns.

Go on over to Mopic's website (www.mopicairsoft.ca) and look at the KWA AEG's. They come in two flavours at the moment, H&K G36 and some M4 Variants.

KWA is probobly the best brand to pick an AEG that you don't want to tinker with/don't need to tinker with, and that will perform absolutely flawlessly out of the box.

If you are adventurous and like to have some fun, go grab an Aftermath Kraken and build yourself a nice custom AK !

Are those KWA's from www.mopicairsoft.ca full metal? and a question about the gearbox are they v2 or v3?

I vouch for Tokyo Marui stuff although some are not full metal, their gearboxes are easy to tinker with, I opened it up, screwed it up (Gear teeth destroyed) and then learned to put it back together and it still worked fine.

If anything I find TM guns are quite noob tinkerer friendly since many aftermarket parts fit in nicely and usually you don't have to worry about changing anything with the gearbox

Yes V3 is pretty good, I busted the wires, soldered them back up, heat shrink wrap and then back to "Fwhip fwhip fwhip" at TTAC CQB and it won me a bag of BBs

So TM guns are a good choice, if you like to tinker, if you don't like to tinker then listen the dudes up above me

The M4's are full metal, the G36 has a plastic body (Just like the real steel counterpart).

All airsoft AEG M4's in the world have V2 mechboxes, regardless of manufacturer. The same goes for all AK's, all of them have V3 mechboxes.

When buying a KWA, mechbox type doesn't really concern you, since you will never be opening up the mechbox anyways; the KWA's are built like tanks for people who don't want to tinker with the insides of the gun.

I have been playing airsoft for awhile now and I sported armalite ever since. I have never ever have broken any ver.2 gearbox that I have used stock TM and reinforced. Then Sorbo pads came out I love them even more.

For my clients guns. I seen broken ver.2(common), ver.3 and ver.7 for the reason of mismatched parts or wrong combination of parts.

Well I am leaning toward the KWA g36 for now and possibily a m4 or ak down the road.

......... I think I am going to end up spending every dollar i have on this sport, I have been to a game had a rental gun that was pretty good. it was shooting at 385-390 consistantly and accurately.

Now my question is, what is the best method of ordering. Is www.mopicairsoft.ca any good?

Mopic you can trust! Sometimes his communication can be extremely slow but never worry about getting your gun from him! I would trust him above all others!

Tsk tsk tsk, all the hating on the armalite.

My V2 has never given me any issues what so ever and its been though alot, to much actually and its still running strong with no signs of wear or creep.

If you want an armalite but your afraid of the big bad V2, get a PGC prowin mechbox. Now theres durability and quality! However its not something for someone who is just in the initial stages of airsoft.

The V2 isnt as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Well I should add an addendum to that statement, any non craptastic asian company cloned V2 is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Airsoft is primarily about the looks of the gun, performance and reliability comes after. If it was the opposite we'd all have ptw's.

Take a look at all the guns on Modern Firearms or some hong kong website such as redwolf and note the look and only the look of the gun you like.

Once you've done that, all you need to do is buy a "high quality" version of the gun you like.

When the brand is not shit, all guns work well stock, be it a V2 or V3 or a Vwhatever.
