Classic Army M15 A4
 

I just bought the M15A4 but it isn't the RIS version. I have another one on the way (full package basically) from 007 Airsoft, but the one I just bought is a "filler" until my full order comes in.

I planned on owning two M4's anyways, I just didn't think it would be this soon. It's going to be my project gun/mod gun for when I get bored.

First things first, the RIS unit. Would I be better off going with the RIS unit that is meant for Classic Army, if you look on AirsoftGI's website thats the one i'm talking about, or is there another brand out there that works just as good? I would prefer not having to mod it in any way to make it fit something it wasn't meant for. Not because i'm lazy, but because if I chose to sell it, it woudn't look like McGyver got bored with it. Battery space is not an issue. All my M4's will be equipped with PEQ boxes.

Second, the M203. I purchased the G&P Jungle M203 mil short version from 007, but i've read thtat G&P is only compatible with G&P, but then I read another thing saying it's compatible with Classic Army with minor modification. Does anybody have any first hand experience?

Please, no "my buddies, buddies girl friends brother said it worked" answers. First hand knowledge please. I hate asking this shit.

I was in the same situation with the RIS of my CA M15A4 when I got it. I was able to purchase third party 2 piece RIS assembly on ebay. It fits, but it moves far more than I am willing to put up with. Then again, 2 piece RIS assemblies are probably well known for this issue. If you are really bent on having a RIS handguard despite what I described above, you might want to look into 1 piece RIS, which is pretty solid once installed-though with a bit of work involved.

One piece? Like, just one full piece and you can't take it apart like a regular hand guard? If that's the case, I will be needing a two piece because I plan on installing the barrel mounted M203.

Are the Classic Army RIS units one piece?

On the CA m15 im working on, it has a two piece RIS like the one you have above, and it fits great (came with the gun, no idea on brand)

Hmm...does it have like a silver heat shield in it? I would assume it's a Classic Army made RIS unit, but I haven't been able to find any pictures illustrating it's capabilities like the picture above. Did you buy the gun used diamond?

If your scared that the RIS will move, go for one that screws in the front and back once the RIS is installed. Those one's will have zero wobble/play.

ya it has the heat shield. Its not a pretty rotation like in the picture. Pull back the delta ring, and you should be able to pull out the lower rail. This gun was bought used.

Im assuming most RIS units would have some form of this access, as front wired gearboxs have their wires passed through a cramped hole. so the wires have small electrical connectors on them that go through the hole in the body into the RIS, where the connectors would then be attached to the battery connector (as the battery connector is wayyy to big to fit in that tiny hole)

Hey dude,
I have a CA and installed a DBoys RIS without any modification. There is no wobble once it's all clamped in and when the T1 screw is tightened. The only thing you have to do is take the case off the fuse. I couldn't get the handguards to close properly when the case for the fuse was still attached. Duct tape ftw!

One thing to remember is that a RIS is numbered 1-13 with odd numbers and a RAS is 14-28 with even numbers.

Another thing to note is that CA makes everything a little bit bigger than everyone else. So if you install a DBoys or Marui RIS or whatever onto your gun, the rails will not line up with the rails on your receiver. The hand guard rails will sit a few mm lower.

Is this fuse case easy to take off?
