TM AUG, SP160 using .25 bb's
 

Ever since i upgraded my spring to SP160.. I never got good groupings.. As much as possible, i want to avoid using .28 or .3 bb's so i would stick to .25's.. Now my question is... is it ok to still use .25's if I change my barrel to a tigh barrel (6.03)? Would the groupings be bearable?


really bad @ approx. 30 meters. Can't shoot 5 peso coin @ 15 meters. You don't wanna shoot anyone in a game @ 5-10 meters with this setup right?

TM AUG has i think 510mm barrel.. so if I would change the stock barrel to a 6.03... what range & accuracy should I expect?

you SHOULD use heavier BBs as that will increase accuracy; especially if you are using a heavier spring. Why dont you want to use heavier bbs?

well it will cost you less to get lighter bbs, but it will be less effective. its up to you. all i know is, if you're running that heavy spring, a heavier bb will be needed in order to handle the speed at which it is being fired. the heavier bb's will be more stable in the air.

EDIT: that heavy of a spring will put your over 500fps correct? you will for sure need to use a heavier bb. i might go as far to say that the spring is too heavy. you might have to use the straight bbs, which are over .30g with some as heavy as .43g. but definitely try .30s.

I dont see anything wrong with using a .25 in a 6.03 with the spring your equipt with right now, a .28 would be alright as well. Id keep to .25 though. But I guess its dependant on your play style, you may want more weight for the range.

I used some .28's in my APS2-96 setup... was blasting a nice 575 on .20s.... And using .28's was a great compromise... got very good grouping and range, while keeping it cost effective (ok... I shot under 100 bb in my whole summer... but I would have shot more with an AEG)

Bastard makes some .28s... I used them in my 6.01 PSG1 barrel... not jam at all...

And I paid 15$ for 2500 bbs... right at the game, so cost is NOT that higher...

Shit, I don't even use 0.25g BBs in my CA M24 with a 150SP spring in it, they are too light and craptastic for accuracy at any distance past 100ft. Screw the cost effective, it isn't cost effective at all is you decide to spend the cost of a bag of 1300 0.30g BBs on a bag of 3000 0.25g, more so if it takes yo ua half dozen shots to hit a guy 150ft away.

Also, what hop up rubber are you using, sounds like it's shiite.

Flat out I say BB weight, I've never had much good happen past 150ft with 0.25g even with my MP5s. 0.28g............ past 200ft easy with a 110SP spring.

+1, as long as you have the velocity, heavier bbs are definitely the way to go, and you need a harder hopup rubber for over 400fps. Like a KM RH65, maybe even RH75...

It's not cost effective when you need to shoot 50 .2's to hit your target at range when you could use 5 or 6 .3's.....

You could try a Guarder Black hopup rubber - it's rated as an R70, for 425 FPS and up....

so on SP160?? .28's or .30's?

Use KSC .30's... BB's are probably cheaper over in the Philippines... But over here it's $20 for a bag of 2200.

Yes. Remember, it's the BB's decision (and Mother Nature's) on it's flight path, not the gun's. The gun just points it in the right direction, and tells it how fast to make it go.

thanx... i think i would just use .28's since .3's is i think an overkill... and expensive too!

just cough up the extra bit and get the .30s dude; they are not overkill, they are normal. im only going to be using .28s or heavier in my gun when i get it and it will be stock. im eventually going to put in a 150% spring to bring up fps to 390ish and have a TB barrel and thats it. .30 all the way.
