what to do about a flakey seller

i bought an item from a fellow here on the forums over a month ago, and still havent got it. he said he sent it twice, which was bullshit because it never came; he is only online about once a week, when he gives me some excuse. the first excuse was a car broke down, then post office sent it back to him , then he crashed his car. i know these may be all valid excuses, but this guy doesnt inspire a lot of confidence in his responses; and i only noticed after i emt the money that one of his old feedbacks said he took 4 months to ship the thing.

i wont mention his name yet, im just looking for ideas on what to do. the guy is in quebec and im in nova scotia; i could have walked up there and got it in this time.

break his legs

Put delicious fruit, caramel, or whipped cream filling in him, wrap him individually and then sell him for rediculous prices at convience stores.

Seriously though you should try to see where he lives and see if anyone around there can give you a hand. A month is quite a while, you should post up his name and maby someone can help you out.

We can't really do much to help if we don't know who it is.

Here's the basic things you can do.
Post his name for all to see.
Take him to small claims.
Call the police and claim fraud.
If you sent the money via PayPal contest the charge on your Visa/MC
If you sent the money via EMT complain to your bank.
Not do anything and be out how ever much cash you sent.

His last few deals have been rough ones, in fact one was with a fellow teammate of mine. Got his stuff eventually, but took a thread like this and about 4 months of time before anything happened.

sigh...great

BloodSport April 26th, 2006 16:28

Keep PM'ing him, and try to see if any of the local Montreal area players happen to know him, they might be willing to help get your stuff out/confirm any of his "stories".

You may be SOL. Supposedly he was moving to France. I don't know him and have never even seen this guy. But anyhow here is the thread about him moving.

apparently i heard that things weren't going too smoothly with some things in his life.....that does not justify consistently screwing over others, sorry.

gone to france.....hahahahaha. now ive heard everything. so i guess he was trying to raise some funds before he left to pay for his trip. i wonder who-else he has ripped off.
well at least i know not to be waiting impatiently everyday for the mail to come. anyone wanna buy a couple ps2 games? (you can probably guess that i bought a used ps2 from him).
btw dont tell any of your relatives to give an unreliable asshat like that a job in france.

Skruface April 26th, 2006 20:06

If he did fuck off to France, I'd get the cops started on it now. Think of all the fun you could have: RCMP, Interpol...and imagine the great surprise you could have waiting for him at the airport when he comes back to visit, or for a family wedding or funeral!

Allstarr's last activity on the board was april 20th of this year.

LOL.....I love the way you think.

Wait and see if anyone from Montreal actually knows if he left or not. Also, they do have internet in France, was his IP the same? Can you check that, Lisa?

You people need to learn how to use the feedback system properly. The last two deals this guy did were neutral feedback but the comments suggest it should have been NEGATIVE.

Don't be afraid to leave someone negative feedback. If you're not satisfied with the outcome of a transaction, you have a right to say so.

I also see a lot of comments about "deal was going bad but he fixed it so I changed my feedback". That's BULLSHIT. You're just giving an asshole a good name so he can screw somebody else.

If someone flakes, FUCK 'EM. Protect the other members of the community by being honest. Cause I swear, if I do a deal with someone based on their feedback and I find out later that the individual was a chronic asscan and someone gave them positive feedback after a negative experience, I'll give that person negative feedback for misleading me into a poor purchase.

One more thing - if you're a seller, you had BETTER leave feedback after you get your money. The buyer has done their part and paid as promised. Don't wait until you get your feedback from the buyer when the item arives as promised, as the seller your feedback is not a condition of receiving good feedback from the buyer.
